Are we still on Oahu?
Oh my gosh I don’t even know where to begin! First, I need to say that this became my favorite spot on the Island! It’s definitely one of those “Oahu hidden gems” that I really recommend adding to your “places to visit” list. I can’t explain how amazing Lanai Lookout is. It just feels surreal, like we are on a different planet, or like my son said, “it looks like we are inside earth!”
I was dying to check out this location and finally had A’s birthday coming up as an excuse to update his annual birthday pictures. I took both of my kids for a sunset session there and now I am eager for you all to see it.
As soon as we got there, the kids got excited when they realized that we had to climb all the way down. I was a bit nervous since it looked a bit steep, but they did amazing! In fact, I was the one that fell twice, due to the lose dirt, and they thought it was hilarious. I let the kids play and interact with each other as I was photographing them, since I was looking for more of an unposed session.
We didn’t stay long since the sun was setting and it was getting dark, but we are definitely planning on coming back really soon. This mountain behind them is the famous Koko Head. It’s an intense hike that will lead you to a breath taking view!
Check out my favorites below! Isn’t this place just magical?
Fact: Lanai Lookout got its name from the fact that on a clear day, you can see the island of Lanai from there. Its possible to see the Islands of Molokai and Maui as well. How awesome is that?
