There’s something about Kualoa that never gets old. The lush green mountains, swaying palm trees, and ocean views make this part of Oahu truly special.

This romantic Kualoa Regional Park elopement was intimate and relaxed. Even better, it was surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Hawaii.

An Intimate Elopement at Kualoa Regional Park

Kualoa Regional Park is one of my favorite places to photograph couples on Oahu. It’s especially beautiful for couples who want more than a traditional Hawaii beach backdrop.

The mountains here are incredible. They’re lush, dramatic, and unmistakably Oahu. Just steps away, you also have palm trees, the ocean, and beautiful views of Mokoliʻi.

For this elopement, we explored different areas of the park. This gave us plenty of variety while keeping the session relaxed and easy.

Most importantly, nothing needed to feel overly posed. We took our time, enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, and focused on capturing the connection between the two of them.

One of my favorite things about photographing elopements is how personal they feel.

There’s time for the little moments. Walking hand in hand. Laughing together. Holding each other close. Taking a moment to look around and realize that this is your wedding day.

I always give my couples enough direction to feel comfortable in front of the camera. At the same time, I leave room for genuine moments to happen naturally.

Because of that, the final images feel romantic and beautiful without feeling overly posed.

And with the incredible Kualoa mountains in the background, the setting couldn’t have been more beautiful.
