Who says birthday photos have to include balloons and a cake?

Samantha wanted to celebrate her birthday with something creative, colorful, and completely different from a traditional portrait session. We created a tropical bathtub photoshoot surrounded by lush greenery and filled the tub with water and beautiful island flowers in shades of pink, red, orange, and white.

The result was bold, feminine, and unmistakably Hawaiʻi.

A Birthday Session Designed Around Her

One of my favorite things about portrait photography is creating a session that feels personal to the person in front of my camera. Samantha’s vibrant swimsuit, colorful flowers, and the greenery surrounding the bathtub came together perfectly.

The tropical setting made the session feel almost like a secret garden hidden in Kailua. From the flowers floating around her to the gorgeous overhead portraits, every detail helped create something artistic and unique.

Although this photoshoot was carefully planned, I still wanted Samantha to feel relaxed and confident throughout the experience. I guided her through each pose and movement so she never had to wonder what to do in front of the camera.
